About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior People Partner to partner the People/HR function. This is a unique partnering opportunity, as it will combine being the People partner for the People/HR function, developing and owning the team’s people agenda, whilst also being a critical driver of our own transformation programme.
To be successful you need to be a strong stakeholder manager – you will be partnering and challenging your own functional leaders!
This role would suit a seasoned Senior HR Business Partner both capable of long term strategic thinking about how the function needs to evolve at the same time as getting their hands dirty to deliver it, with experience of driving functional and cultural change.
You will report into the Director of People, Business Partnering for Support Office.
The ideal candidate will be able to look at the holistic requirements of the total function. You will use your experience in galvanising and leveraging key stakeholders to enable People Transformation to be effective for the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner the CPO and the People Leadership team (PLT).
* Influence and deliver the overall short, mid to long term people priorities for the function (in conjunction with PLT) to align to our key priorities.
* Work in partnership with members of PLT and their teams to deliver the people elements of the transformational change, accountable for people related change initiatives.
* Work with People Transformation Lead to shape and then deliver the ‘Transformation of the People function’ agenda, partnering with PLT.
* Manage transition, change management and embed change across the function.
* Focus on driving the core people agenda, ensuring that our people processes in the function are working well (engagement, reward, talent management and acquisition, Leadership development, strategic workforce planning, longer term capability building, organisational design and development).
* Use People MI to understand hotspots, trends and key focus areas to drive the agenda forward.
* Track progress, then create and present People plan and Transformation program updates to the CPO and PLT.
* Develop and own the engagement strategy for the function: delivering through others including the new People forum. Develops the calendar of engagement in the function; drives events and touchpoints to help take the function on the change journey.
* Define the agenda for monthly People Leadership team meetings and facilitate the meeting ensuring the EA has collated actions. Coordinate with appropriate partner to identify key content and content owners for agenda items to be discussed at PLT meetings.
What you’ll need to have
* Gravitas to operate confidently and challenge up to executive management level within your own function! Comfortable to be an uncomfortable companion challenging the leaders as appropriate.
* Significant experience of Senior HR Partnering with senior stakeholders within a complex commercial and / or retail environment and experience of operating within an HR/People Centres of Expertise model.
* Strong moral courage with resilience and tenacity to lead through ambiguity.
* Have the energy and enthusiasm to champion new ways of working and thinking.
* Strong change leadership experience – influences senior teams to guide through effective organisation change strategies in a variety of scenarios.
* Able to lead, motivate, coach, support, challenge and develop others to be at their best.
* Experience of leading, driving and tracking delivery of programmes and projects of work effectively.
* Experience of facilitation and coaching of management at all levels.
