A leading organisation in the metals sector is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to lead and develop a high-performing team at its Milton Keynes site. Reporting to the Head of Account Management, you'll be responsible for delivering growth, retention, and profitability across a diverse client base.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused, people-driven sales leader with strong knowledge of industrial, technical, or manufacturing environments—particularly where materials and supply chain integration are key.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead, manage, and develop a team of sales professionals to meet and exceed growth targets
2. Set and deliver clear team and individual objectives within a structured performance framework
3. Drive a culture of goal achievement, accountability, and customer focus
4. Create accurate forecasts and manage resources effectively to deliver on targets
5. Champion digitalisation and automation to drive sales efficiencies and customer value
6. Embed a “Materials as a Service” approach to optimise commercial outcomes
7. Coordinate with internal teams to meet complex contract deliverables
8. Maintain strong knowledge of technical product specifications and supply chain dynamics
9. Foster collaboration across teams, promoting innovation and idea sharing
Ideal Candidate Profile:
1. Proven experience managing a sales team within the aerospace, defence, or metals industry
2. Strong commercial and negotiation skills with a track record of success
3. A confident, people-first leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop talent
4. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
5. Data-driven with strong analytical capabilities
6. Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office
7. Must be able to commute to Milton Keynes and travel to customer sites as required
