Contract Scotland are working with a leading building contractor in Livingston to source a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. They deliver projects across a range of sectors including education, healthcare, commercial, community, leisure, and more.
This is a great opportunity for a conscientious Quantity Surveyor looking to join a busy contractor with a supportive working environment and a strong pipeline of work.
As a QS, you will be responsible for managing and steering costs and building and maintaining strong relationships to ensure project success and satisfaction.
Key responsibilities:
- Advise and liaise with operational management on contract and commercial matters.
- Carry out valuations and ensure payments are issued on time.
- Report monthly costs, maintain accurate financial records, and prepare cost forecasts.
- Ensure quotations are evaluated carefully and comply with project specifications.
- Successfully manage sub-contractor accounts.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or alternative relevant disciple.
- A minimum of 2 years commercial experience within a main contracting environment.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and cost management.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
