ABOUT FINISTERRE Born two decades ago from the needs of hardy British surfers, Finisterre is proudly B Corp certified and a leader in its field; designing functional and sustainable products for those that share a love of the sea and adventure. Whether based at our cliff top headquarters in St. Agnes, Cornwall or in one of our eleven retail locations across the UK, Finisterre is a truly unique brand and career proposition. Perched a few hundred meters from the crashing Atlantic, our HQ at St. Agnes’ Wheal Kitty Workshops is at the heart of our brand. Here we stay true to our original design ethos of functionality and sustainability brought to life in an understated style and identity, always remaining committed to product, environment, and people. Our people are at the very heart of the Finisterre brand, wherever they may be in the world, sharing our values and vision to make the world a better place. Culture and team are everything here. We take care to create a working environment where our people are valued and can thrive and grow with us. It’s a buzzing place to work, and we are privileged to enjoy the natural environment and ocean on a daily basis. As we enter the next exciting stage of global growth, we are on the lookout for talented individuals to join our crew. So, if you are as passionate about the ocean as we are, if you embody our values to be Brave, Honest and Driven, if you want to be part of a truly authentic, purpose-led brand and you share our vision to create exceptional products in a responsible way, then we would love to hear from you ABOUT THE ROLE The Community function of the business brings the soul to our marketing efforts as Finisterre continues to inspire a deeper connection with the sea. From our home in Cornwall to our urban hubs and the edges of the earth, Finisterre have long supported and run within communities that celebrate and nurture the lives of those between land and sea. Finisterre’s community represents a group of customers who are invested in the business, beyond sales. These customers want to become a part of the brand itself and will at times interact with each other without involving the brand. Community members and those in our watery world take great enjoyment from personable interactions with the brand - this can make them feel valued by the brand they support; expressing their opinions on the brand and its direction can help them feel greater involvement with its people and ownership of the brand. Customers who feel valued by the brand are more likely to remain loyal to it, where our most valued customers can often act and feel like unofficial brand ambassadors. They may recommend the brand to friends and family members through invaluable word of mouth, being one the most natural and organic forms of brand awareness available to us. The Community Marketing Manager is responsible for creating and adding to marketing campaigns that grow, engage, and retain this community. Building an engaged community of customers and advocates serves as a great way for the business to bring together segment/s of our audience who chose to engage with the brand beyond our product offering, in turn, nurturing brand loyalty, sharing in our values and joining in our sense of belonging. The role continues to focus on building meaningful relationships with customers based on two-way interactions. Through the Community function, these authentic interactions generally take place in person, though can also appear online, through social media and on message boards. These are the platforms where customers can best interact with each other, but where Finisterre as a brand also endeavours to lead and be part of the dialogue.
