What skills and experience we're looking for
Role Overview:
The Early Help and LAC Officer is responsible for supporting the education and wellbeing of vulnerable students, including Looked After Children, young carers, and those requiring Early Help. Reporting to the Designated Safeguarding Lead, the role involves coordinating services, providing practical support, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements to improve outcomes for students facing significant challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as a school ambassador and liaison for Looked After Children, their careers, and Virtual Schools.
• Administer LAC funding, ensuring accurate financial and intervention records.
• Manage and coordinate Personal Education Plans (PEPs) and track progress of LAC students.
• Work closely with students, families, and external agencies to deliver targeted support.
• Conduct Early Help Assessments, chair meetings, and maintain detailed records of interventions.
• Monitor vulnerable students’ progress, attendance, and behaviour, addressing concerns proactively.
• Lead advocacy efforts for young carers within the school.
