An exciting opportunity has become available within the Specialised Surgery Directorate. The Plastic Surgery Team at County are looking for an experienced and motivated individual with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to work as a Medical Secretary and Waiting List Officer within the County Site.
Main duties of the job
Candidates should possess a professional attitude to their work and have the ability to work flexibly in an extremely busy environment. You will possess experience of working as a medical secretary demonstrating accuracy and excellent multi-tasking capabilities in all aspects of the workload. You will be required to work as part of a team as well as being able to use your initiative and prioritise your own workload to meet strict deadlines.
You will be responsible for the management of your own workload, working closely with other Medical Secretaries, Consultants, and the Management Team. You will be dealing with patients via telephone, email inbox, histology reports, booking appointments, booking theatre and minor ops, typing letters, covering where required for work.
You will be responsible for ensuring Staffordshire Treatment Suite (STS) theatres are filled, coordinating the diary, liaising with STS Nursing and reception staff. You will also be the Medical Secretary for one Consultant covering County Hospital for Plastic Surgery.
