The job summary is described below:
Working closely with the Team Lead, to be a key contact for the service for all patient related and administrative matters.
To be the key contact for the organisation of out-patient clinics, including clinic reduction/cancellations and making of urgent appointments.
Provide secretarial support to ENT services
To monitor/validate patients throughout their pathway, from point of entry, escalating issues promptly, in order to ensure compliance with waiting time standards.
As required, support the coordination of national and local audits by effective data collection.
The appointment of consultants has created an exciting opportunity for exceptional candidates to join the administrative team in the ENT surgery department at Northwick Park Hospital. Specific responsibility would be to provide support across the ENT service.
The successful candidates will be experienced medical secretaries able to demonstrate advanced communication and organisational skills. They must also be able to use their own initiative and show problem solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and a passion for patient care is essential.
In line with the Trust's objective of a transition from medical secretary to Patient Pathway Co-ordinators (PPC), any necessary training would be given to expand the role to cover PPC duties. This would be fully explained at interview.
