Role- Process Safety Advisor Location- Kidderminster (site based)
Salary- £38-42,000
HSE Recruitment, alongside our sister company Technical Network, are seeking a Process Safety Advisor for a large, complex and unique manufacturing company in Kidderminster.
This is a new role, created due to growth to support a complex, long term project. You will work closely with the process safety manager, the health and safety manager and the factory engineering team. The business will invest in you, your skills and development and the experience you will gain and be exposed to here, in the next 3- 5 years is unrivalled.
Responsibilities:
This role can be shaped around the individual, but we are looking for someone who has a base knowledge and understanding of process safety and experience in aspects of the below:
Lead and manage process safety aspects of the factory project, with particular focus on the processing of energetic materials.
Provide expert guidance on current legal requirements for energetic material handling and design processes that comply with these requirements.
Conduct risk assessments, safety studies and hazard analyses (HAZOP and LOPA), ensuring all aspects of process safety are comprehensively addressed.
Collaborate with stakeholders and interface with suppliers to ensure safety measures align with project objectives.
Develop and implement process safety management systems, ensuring compliance with UK safety standards and best practice, utilising best available technology.
Participate and coordinate safety reviews, hazard and operability studies, layers of protection analyses etc.
What we are looking for:
Higher level qualification in science or engineering subject, such as HNC/HND.
Experience in high hazard industry
Understanding and experience of Process Hazard Analysis techniques (HAZOP, PFMEA, LOPA, human factor studies etc.).
Strong communicator, both written and verbal and attention to detail
Self-motivated and able to manage own time and prioritise tasks
Team player with the ability to work unsupervised
Able to make balanced and evidence-based judgements and decisions
Desirable
Degree level qualification in a science or engineering subject
Experience and knowledge of the Explosive Regulations 2014 (HSE Publication L150) and explosives licensing.
Process Safety Qualification such as NEBOSH Certificate or willing to work towards
Membership or accreditation by a chartered institute
Experience of working on a COMAH sites
Strong background and experience in safety engineering
