Your role We are seeking to fill a new position as Facilities Support Operative (C5) in our office in Bonn, Germany. In this position you will work as part of the Property Section of the Administration Department. Based at the Bonn duty station and reporting to the Principal Administrator and Facilities Officer, you will join a small team of motivated staff supporting our 200 employees in our Bonn office. This is an exciting new role in which you will support the many day-to-day property support activities such as space planning and office moves including furniture, handling deliveries and arranging shipments, minor office maintenance, and liaising with contractors and workers employed by our landlord. If you have a background and experience in providing office logistics support, performing or overseeing minor maintenance works and enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds then this could be the perfect role for you. Your responsibilities Supporting the Principal Administrator and Facilities Officer, you will be responsible for carrying out day-to-day office support duties and other facilities support functions that include a range of different tasks including the following: Carry out minor maintenance and new works associated with office fixtures, fittings and equipment; Carry out office and meeting room re-configurations, moving and assembling furniture (such as desks, tables, chairs etc.) and re-arranging layouts; Assist the Principal Administrator and Facilities Officer, and in their absence ensure continuity of services on-site; Assist in ensuring compliance with ECMWF Health and Safety Policy as well as with local and German requirements, e.g. address any safety hazards; Support facilities management activities regarding space planning, procurement of office furniture and equipment; Prepare shipments and arrange courier services and handle the receipt of goods and internal delivery; Perform registry duties such as liaising with the internal courier service, handling incoming and outgoing mail; Provide ad-hoc support for non-German speakers in matters relating to the premises, equipment and similar issues; Liaise with internal and external contractors and other workers from German Ministries or ECMWF suppliers; Assist with the planning and organising of conferences and other events and assist participants and visitors; Provide occasional assistance to ECMWF site technicians and liaise with site facilities management team, security personnel and catering provider for the coordination of meetings and events.
