We’re looking for a Retail Team Member to welcome visitors to our two National Trust shops at Charlecote Park, to answer their questions and help them make the most of their day.
Salary: £11.50 an hour
Duration: Permanent
Hours: 780 hours a year. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. During busy seasons of the year you will have more shifts per week, and in quieter seasons you will have fewer shifts per week.
On average, it is 2-3 days per week, but expect to work more days during holiday seasons when we have most visitors. Weekend and public holiday working are required, and shared between the team. Charlecote Park is open 364 days a year (closed Christmas Day).
Shifts run from 10:15am - 5pm (Summer opening hours) and 10:15am - 4:30pm (Winter opening hours) with 30 minutes lunch break.

What it's like to work here
Charlecote Park is a Victorian home set in a landscaped deer park. There are two retail outlets; the Servants Hall Shop which sells home and fashion accessories, books, food, souvenir and childrens' products, and Avenue Plants which is an open-sided thatched barn and sells garden accessories, a wide range of plants and outdoor lifestyle products. The retail team work in both locations, so need to be comfortable working outdoors in all weathers. The staff team is supported by a team of volunteers who work alongside us to serve our visitors and keep the shops looking enticing.
What you'll be doing
As a member of the retail team, you’ll be offering visitors help and advice with their shopping. You’ll have high standards of presentation in the shop while providing excellent service to all customers.
You’ll also be able to talk to them about how everything they buy helps to fund the work of the National Trust. Other duties may include arranging, receiving and unpacking deliveries, creating shop displays and working with others in the team to keep the shop floor clean and organised.
