Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an Environmental Consultant. This Role is an ideal opportunity for an experienced environmental technician/scientist to advance in their career. You will be a self-starter and a problem solver, with ability to work on your own initiative and to provide support to a team of environmental consultants. You will be supported by senior and principal consultants as and when required. This role provides a great opportunity for career advancement in the field of environmental consulting and insurance claim management. A Bachelors or Masters degree in the following or associated science/engineering disciplines: Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Geoscience, Geotechnical Engineering Minimum of 2 years experience in an Environmental Technician/Scientist Role. A full UK driving licence (or equivalent) – this is essential to the role Experience of dealing with general project management and dealing with pollution incidents – desirable. Support Principal/Senior Consultants with project management of environmental insurance claims and site work, ensuring claims are completed to a high standard and high levels of customer service. Project management of your own portfolio of environmental insurance claims within authority levels referring to Senior consultants as and when required. Liaison with all stakeholders including clients, contractors, and homeowners. Undertaking site investigations to determine the extent and severity of impact resulting from contamination incidents and assessing environmental risks. Collection and logging of soil, water and air samples during investigations to a high standard and in accordance with published industry guidance Managing, planning and delivering of site investigations, remediation design, monitoring and validation works. Directing and monitoring of subcontractors, ensuring their competence to complete tasks and within agreed costs and timeframes. Scheduling and interpretation of field and laboratory data Production of interpretive environmental reports, including conceptual site models and quantitative risk assessments in-line with industry best practice. Demonstrating a commitment to ensuring consistently high levels technical robustness, commercial awareness, organisation, and customer satisfaction Writing high standard reports which are technically sound and commercially focused Management of own files, cost appraisals, regular invoicing and WIP management, quality assurance, health and safety and customer/adjuster expectations Builds trust and respect by keeping to the commitments made. Ensures all activities and decisions improve the service provided for clients. Demonstrates a ‘can do’ attitude and is solution oriented to focus on systems improvement.
