The infrastructure engineer is required to support the server and cloud-based services provided to all MTC locations. The support covers setup, patching, administration through to solution design and implementation. Ensuring a reliable service is provided to all our customers (internal/external) while adhering to MTC standards and processes and developing supporting documentation.
Working closely with team members, customers across the business, and 3rd parties, predominantly through internal communication. When necessary, liaising with customers and 3rd parties, and at times it may be necessary to communicate with IS senior managers.
Innovation is key to a successful IS department, so not only following processes but developing and improving where possible within the infrastructure, consistent with change control.
Existing knowledge and hands-on experience of server infrastructure is essential. This must cover MS Windows Server 2022 and MS Azure cloud services, including Office 365. A good understanding of virtualised server infrastructure and cloud service offerings is required. An appreciation of other operating systems, e.g., Linux, would be beneficial.
