Handyperson £23,059 a year Stoke-on-Trent Hours per week 35 Contract type Permanent As a Handyperson you’ll be responsible for completing repairs, maintenance, and home improvements in customer’s homes across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. Job requirements Fit grab and stair rails in homes to make them more accessible for customers. Move and handle furniture to make way for equipment or downstairs living. Conduct small-scale repairs to doors and windows. Box-in pipework, put up curtain rails, and fit fencing. Complete remedial repairs and measures to prevent or clear damp and mould. Carry out small scale landscaping tasks like the replacement of broken paving slabs and cleaning driveways, patios, and decking using a jetwash. Install security equipment such as CCTV, security locks, and keysafes to keep homes secure. Complete caretaking duties at our villages, emptying bin chutes, changing light bulbs, and supporting our events coordinator. Conduct simple plumbing works like replacing taps and re-sealing baths. Provide a quality service that always puts the customer at the heart of everything you do, helping them to feel safe and secure as you complete jobs in their home. Work with team leaders and safety operatives to comply with health and safety legislation, risk assessments, and safe methods of work. What we’re looking for A good general level of education, with a relevant trade qualification. Experience of working within a similar role. An understanding of what great customer service is. An understanding of property maintenance and manual handling. An ability to complete minor plumbing and joinery repairs, as well as the safe and effective use of power tools. An ability to work independently using initiative. A genuine, honest, and empathetic person, who is helpful and professional while also taking pride in their own work.
