You’ll be responsible for getting the best out of a team of enthusiastic engineers. This role is about connecting communities and creating opportunities, so our people and our assets are ready for the rest of the 21st century and beyond.
Working in the Vehicles Engineering Technical Services team, you will apply extensive expertise in the field of engineering to review and resolve high complex or network-wide technical problems, providing functional and technical leadership, advice, and expertise to staff and stakeholders, interpreting technical strategy and company policy to satisfy business requirements.

You’ll ensure our vehicle assets are safe, working, and compliant, developing your own solutions with guidance from experienced peers, and becoming a trusted source of engineering advice for everyone that comes to you, including our Heads of Engineering Delivery.
You will need the ability to manage site-based maintenance activities in depots, requiring occasional unsocial hours and weekend work to gain access to vehicles. You must understand how the maintenance and repair of vehicle-based remote monitoring equipment operates within a system of systems, including mechanical installation as well as electrical and system fault finding. You should be able to understand complex issues and communicate this to a wide range of stakeholders within the overall TfL structure.
