Role Overview:
To provide clerical assistance to the Registration Service Manager/Superintendent Registrar in the provision of registration services to the public.
Key Responsibilities:
* Use a range of computer packages e.g. typing letters in Word, inputting data onto spreadsheets and registration databases.
* Account for cash transactions/daily reconciliation of certificates and sales transactions.
* Cover reception as required.
* Provide a high standard of customer care and ensure that all information is kept secure and confidentiality is maintained at all times.
* Register marriages and civil partnerships as per legal requirements by direct personal questioning and accurately recording this in both written and electronic records.
Key Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:
* Sufficient literacy and numeracy skills.
* Ability to use IT applications in relation to the requirements of the post including Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
* Willingness to learn new skills.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively advise and support senior officers, with confidence to challenge where appropriate based on evidence.
* Good organisational skills to manage competing demands.
