To lead and manage all aspects of Health, Safety & Wellbeing for the Future Water MJJV Havant Thicket Reservoir project, taking responsibility for setting standards that are industry-leading and developing, implementing & maintaining those standards. This will include working as an integrated team linking with all sites, client representatives, contract and project management teams, and the Board of Directors.
As Health Safety and Wellbeing Manager, your role will include but not be limited to the following:
Accountability of role:
1. Leading the project to be an exemplar in safety.
2. Meeting the client's Health Safety and Wellbeing requirements as defined in the scope.
3. Providing health and safety support and advice to project teams, ensuring health and safety risks and hazards are identified, controlled, and compliant with legislation, industry best practice, and guidance.
4. Engaging with teams to communicate health and safety requirements and gain feedback on improvements/ concerns.
5. Monitoring the adequacy of health and safety controls, including competency checks, document reviews, audits, and site inspections.
6. Conducting and reviewing assurance and incident investigations to identify root causes and prevent reoccurrence.
7. Providing written competent expert specialist advice and reports to all questions asked on HSW matters from management to employees.
Scope of the Role
1. Delivering and monitoring performance against the client Safety, Health, Wellbeing objectives & strategy.
2. Delivering assurance for the project and completing various inspections and audits.
3. Forming proactive strong relationships with client & JV partners.
Proactively advising functional areas of Future Water MJJV on all aspects of health and safety, including compliance with applicable legislation and:
1. Industry best practice, liaising with enforcing authorities and professional groups to ensure currency.
2. Managing investigations and working with project teams in collaboration to ensure effective root cause analysis and effective implementation of preventative and corrective actions is conducted, reporting statistical information as required.
3. Writing reports for delivery to the Client, Board & Group HS Manager.
4. Supporting managers with practical guidance and tuition to enable them to monitor compliance in their area of the business.
5. Increasing health and safety competence of managers and staff in the business through coaching and guidance, highlighting training opportunities to ensure staff remain current and competent with health and safety practices.
6. Attending various working forums to promote collaboration and implement best practices.

Skills & Knowledge
1. In-depth knowledge & understanding of H&S legislation, best practice & its practical application.

Experience
1. Experience working as a Senior lead/Advisor in a construction environment (Civil Engineering) (Essential).
2. Experience of training, mentoring & coaching direct reports. (Essential).
3. Strong leadership skills of managing multi-skilled teams, establishing performance expectations & managing compliance. (Essential).
4. Experience of MEICA process safety within civil engineering, including HAZOP/ALM. (Desirable).
5. Experience of working & collaborating within a JV environment. (Desirable).
Training
1. Qualified to NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6 equivalent (Essential).
2. Must hold CMIOSH with 2 years post qualification experience (Essential).
3. CSCS card - Manager or Academically Qualified (Essential).
4. Must possess a full UK driving licence (Essential).
5. SEATS - Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme (Desirable).
