We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Altcourse, Category B men's prison and Young Offender Institution in the Fazakerley area of Liverpool in Merseyside.
Hours
Saturday 2pm-6pm - 1 session
This position is part-time working 4 hours per week, you'll receive an annual salary up to £114,490 per annum FTE (pro rata if fewer than 10 sessions are contracted) - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and well-respected members of the Prison Healthcare community. As a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Deliver first-class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, providing opportunities to develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn't usually experience within a practice or A&E environment.
* Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients' requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.
* Act as a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at the site, as well as the patients you work with, having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.
Qualifications required
* MBChB or MBBS.
* Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List.
* Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal.
* Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse.
* RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications.
