Management Accountant Salary: £34,521 - £41,956 per annum Location: Croydon NHS Hospitals, Trusts and integrated services across the region Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Management Accountant to join our team within a leading NHS Trust. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the financial operations of Croydon University Hospital, Purley War Memorial Hospital, and various other services within the borough. As a Management Accountant, you will play a key role in the preparation of annual budgets, financial monitoring, and variance analysis, providing essential financial advice to budget holders and managers. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, ensuring all figures are accurate and aligned with operational needs. Provide financial advice and support to budget holders and managers across various departments, helping them manage their budgets effectively. Ensure effective financial monitoring by preparing accurate and timely reports on year-end income and expenditure. Perform robust variance analysis, identifying and explaining discrepancies between projected and actual financial data. Assist in financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with the Trust’s strategic goals. Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports, highlighting key trends and issues. Assist in the development of financial models and projections to aid in decision-making. Person Specification: Essential Qualifications and Experience: Part qualified or currently studying towards a CCAB qualification (or equivalent). Experience in providing budgetary support and liaising with budget holders. Strong understanding of financial principles, including budget preparation, financial reporting, and variance analysis. Ability to interpret and present financial data to non-financial stakeholders. High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with colleagues and stakeholders. Desirable Attributes: Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to take on responsibility and develop within the role. Experience working within the NHS or a similar healthcare setting is advantageous but not essential. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
