Senior Power & Energy Systems Transition Engineer
Location: Hybrid working – based in Ellesmere Port, England, UK (WFH: Mon & Fri, Office Days: Tue-Thu)

Our client is a not-for-profit organization that fosters collaboration between industry and innovators in the energy and utilities sectors. They were established 15 years ago to accelerate the discovery, development, and deployment of innovations for the Energy Networks, improving efficiency, safety, accelerating the transition to net zero, and supporting consumers in vulnerable circumstances for major industry partners from the Gas and Electricity Sectors.
Key Qualifications:
1. At least 15 years’ energy industry experience, preferably working for a UK Distribution Network Operator (DNO) or Transmission Network Operator (TNO).
2. In-depth technical electrical power systems knowledge and expertise.
3. Excellent understanding of challenges associated with the Energy Transition to a smart, flexible, low-cost, and low-carbon energy system.
4. Experience across a range of business areas including operations, asset management, health and safety, and fault performance.
5. Excellent report writing skills and facilitation experience.
6. Pro-active, self-motivated with a focus on delivering high-quality outputs.
7. Good team player with a flexible approach to working hours.
8. Extensive project management or authoring experience.
9. An understanding of the legal and commercial factors associated with solutions development.
10. Knowledge of the RIIO regulatory regime and both NIA and SIF funding streams.
Responsibilities:
1. Be the main point of contact for technical queries relating to Electrical Power Systems.
2. Collaborate with Energy Network partners to scope and develop robust challenge statements to enable innovation in specific business areas, driving positive change across the industry.
3. Host industry workshops and meetings to develop ambitious proposals and project plans for presentation to industry partners.
4. Develop proposals and project plans for presentation to industry partners.
5. Support the delivery of projects and deployment of solutions.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary: £60k+ depending on skills and experience
