A PVC Pipe Extrusion Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining extrusion machines to manufacture high-quality PVC pipes. The role involves ensuring that production runs efficiently, maintaining process parameters, and troubleshooting any equipment issues to minimize downtime. Key Responsibilities: Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and adjust extrusion machines, tooling, and dies for different pipe sizes and specifications. Operate extrusion equipment to ensure smooth and continuous production of PVC pipes. Process Control & Optimization: Monitor process parameters, including temperature, pressure, and speed, to ensure consistent product quality. Adjust settings to optimize material usage and minimize waste. Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections and tests (e.g., wall thickness, diameter, and surface finish) to ensure pipes meet required standards. Identify and correct defects such as warping, inconsistent thickness, or surface imperfections. Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Identify and resolve issues related to extrusion machinery, dies, cooling systems, and downstream equipment. Perform routine maintenance and coordinate with the maintenance team for major repairs. Material Handling & Blending: Prepare and mix raw materials, including PVC resin, stabilizers, plasticizers, and additives. Ensure proper feeding of materials into the extrusion system. Safety & Compliance: Follow health and safety guidelines, ensuring safe operation of machinery and handling of materials. Maintain compliance with ISO standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate production records, including machine settings, production output, and downtime reports. Communicate any issues or process improvements to supervisors.
