Aspire People are excited to be working with a fantastic school in Wolverhampton, seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join their dedicated teaching team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented educator to deliver engaging lessons, helping students develop practical cooking skills, food safety knowledge, and an understanding of nutrition and food science.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons to students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
* Develop engaging schemes of work that cover a wide range of topics, including food preparation, nutrition, food safety, and design technology.
* Assess students' progress through coursework, practical assessments, and written exams.
* Encourage students to explore creative and innovative ideas in food design and cooking.
* Maintain a safe and organised kitchen environment, ensuring students understand and adhere to health and safety regulations.
* Support students in developing their skills in both practical cooking and theoretical knowledge.
* Provide guidance and feedback to students to help them achieve their full potential.
* Work collaboratively with other teaching staff to enhance the Food Technology curriculum.
* Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and school leadership to support students' progress and development.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A strong background in Food Technology, Home Economics, or a related field.
* Passionate about teaching and inspiring students to explore the world of food and cooking.
* Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary school level is desirable.
* Knowledge of the latest food technology trends, food science, and nutrition.
* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students with diverse learning styles.
* Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
