Banana Moon, St Albans is a thriving nursery looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and motivational Assistant Deputy Manager (Experienced Third in Charge). This is an exciting opportunity to help lead a happy nursery where we focus on encouraging children to be children, learning through fun and engaging play. You will be working with a dedicated team in a caring, family-friendly, characterful, and stimulating environment which is inviting to children, families, and staff.
This role is a full-time position, comprising 40 hours a week Monday to Friday, alternating between early and late starts (7:30am - 4:30pm and 9:30am - 6:30pm).
Job Purpose:
The Assistant Deputy Manager will have responsibility as a Room Leader alongside supporting the management with leadership of the team in the daily running of the nursery. You will also be expected to take responsibility for everyday management duties in the absence of the Manager or the Deputy Manager.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Supporting the operation of the nursery facilities and staff to ensure high-quality, balanced provision of leading practice education and care.
2. Ensuring adherence to Banana Moon policies and procedures, consistently meeting legislative requirements and following the education curriculum to deliver standards that ensure the highest possible inspection grading.
3. Assisting in the training, support, mentoring, role modeling, and supervision of the staff team, inspiring and leading ambitious practice.
4. Creating a safe, caring, and welcoming setting where families feel happy to entrust their child and where their child is encouraged and supported to flourish in an enabling and stimulating environment.
5. Promoting a successful business with a first-class reputation, engaging with the local community and marketing the nursery while providing excellent customer care.
6. Acting as a named coordinator relevant to your skills or training as designated by the Nursery Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
1. A full and relevant level 3 qualification.
2. DBS enhanced disclosure within the child workforce sector.
3. Paediatric 12-hour First Aid certificate.
4. Safeguarding training and qualification.
5. Minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience.
6. Minimum of 1 year’s leadership experience.
