The Counselling Foundation is committed to providing high-quality counselling services to those in need. As a self-employed counsellor, you will be responsible for assessing clients for suitability for counselling and delivering support while working closely with the wider team and partner organisations.
Primarily, you will work with clients using PCE-Counselling for Depression or Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy. You may also be asked to work with our subsidised service and with clients on other contracts.
The role requires a qualified counsellor with experience of providing effective time-limited counselling, carrying out assessments of client support needs, including risk assessments, and developing skills in assessing risk and managing complex risk assessment in practice.
The ideal candidate will have a qualification in the NHS/IAPT compliant modality Counselling for Depression (CfD), be registered with BACP/UKCP, and have a minimum of 320 client hours including agency work. Experience of delivering counselling over the phone and/or via video conferencing is also desirable.
