As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients in primary care settings, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and friendly experience. You will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of healthcare facilities, including GP surgeries, health centres, and clinics.
Key Responsibilities:
* Greet and assist patients, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment
* Manage telephone inquiries and direct calls to the appropriate departments
* Schedule and manage patient appointments, using electronic health systems
* Handle patient registration, ensuring accuracy in data entry
* Process repeat prescriptions and medical documentation
* Provide general administrative support to the medical team
* Ensure patient confidentiality and comply with GDPR guidelines
* Assist in resolving patient queries and concerns in a timely manner
What We’re Looking For:
* Previous experience as a medical receptionist or similar role in a healthcare environment is preferred
* Proficiency in using medical practice management software (such as EMIS, Docman, SystmOne, etc.)
* Previous experience using Emis Web and Docman systems
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
* Compassionate and empathetic approach when dealing with patients
* A team player with a positive attitude
