With a reputation for durability and reliability, they are now seeking a General Manager to oversee operations and drive future growth.
As the General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the company’s operations, maintain the current business load, and identify opportunities to increase volume, expand the product range, and improve profitability. You will lead the business while maintaining its strong values and company culture, working closely with key personnel across all departments, including sales, administration, and production, with a hands-on approach to leadership.
Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Management: Provide strong leadership across all levels of the business, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals and values. Maintain a visible presence throughout the organisation, engaging with all staff and key stakeholders.
2. Strategic Growth: Develop and implement growth strategies focused on increasing revenue. Look for opportunities to expand product offerings, target new market opportunities, and improve profitability.
3. Operational Oversight: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and the seamless functioning of all business areas. Manage working rosters and staff levels to ensure operational continuity.
4. Staff Management: Oversee leave approvals, ensure they align with company policies, and monitor staff performance through regular appraisals and performance indicators.
5. Customer Relations: Take ownership of customer relationships, managing challenging clients and handling both good and bad customer experiences, with a focus on providing exceptional service.
6. Collaboration with Owners: Work closely with the managing director and consult with other directors as needed. As the role evolves, move into greater autonomy while following company policies and working alongside the owners for training and strategic decision-making.
7. Team Performance & Development: Engage with key personnel across all business areas to foster a clear understanding of team performance. Oversee annual staff appraisals, set performance indicators, and work to continually improve team productivity.
8. Sales & Administration Oversight: Manage sales, workshop activities, warranty issues, and overall business administration. Ensure operational efficiency in all areas of the business.
What We're Looking For:
* Industry Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in a related industry (automotive, trucking, trailers, accessories), with at least 5 years in a senior management role. Previous experience in manufacturing or mechanical products is an advantage.
* Leadership & Strategic Management: Proven track record of successful leadership, with a hands-on management style. Strong ability to engage with all levels of the business and foster a collaborative work environment. Demonstrated success in running a small business is crucial.
* Operational Excellence: Strong operational management skills, with experience overseeing complex manufacturing processes and logistics, including workforce planning, rostering, and productivity optimization.
* Customer-Centric Approach: Demonstrated ability to maintain and enhance customer relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction across all touchpoints.
* Collaboration & Teamwork: Ability to work closely with senior leaders and staff, fostering a positive, supportive, and productive work environment.
