About the role
The role of the IT Operations Manager at Newcastle United will focus on managing the IT Operations team to ensure the club's technical systems and infrastructure run efficiently. The position emphasizes leadership, technical expertise, and communication skills to ensure that Newcastle United’s IT infrastructure meets the demands of a leading sports organization. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to both the operational stability and the ongoing digital transformation of the club.
Your Impact
1. Leadership: Manage the IT Operations team, guiding and mentoring members to deliver high-quality IT services.
2. Collaboration: Work with the Head of IT and IT Delivery & Transformation team to develop strategies that align with the club's IT roadmap and business goals.
3. Performance Analysis: Evaluate the current IT network and system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes.
4. Reporting: Prepare and present performance reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and trend analysis, to senior leadership.
Qualifications and Experience
We require you to have a degree in Computer Science, IT, or experience in a comparable role for three or more years. An ITIL Foundation Level qualification is necessary, demonstrating knowledge of IT service management. You should demonstrate proven leadership with experience in developing and mentoring IT Teams with a focus on monitoring and performance reporting. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
