You'll be working as part of the central Business Support Service with more than 400 colleagues, and you'll be supporting our departments to ensure they are able to deliver critical services to the residents of Hertfordshire. About you Essential: Proven experience in an administrative or support role Excellent organisational and multitasking skills Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with a range of audiences Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software Experience in working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Ability to plan own work over short timescales for routine or familiar tasks and processes and use your initiative to work independently GCSE or Vocational equivalent, strong numeracy, and literacy skills Valid Driving licence (Postal Hub vacancy - see below) Enthusiasm and pride in your work are qualities we welcome Desirable: You will be used to working to tight deadlines and with high accuracy in written correspondence Experience in taking notes would be beneficial, About the teams Postal Hub - based at Apsley - Part time 22.5 hours The role is based at the Apsley office and will include postal rounds, sorting of post and preparing/sorting documents for scanning, scanning documents, validating documents, archiving, franking RM post, uploading documents, updating staff list and responding to postal queries and emailing teams to confirm scanned documents, preparing courier post, sorting courier post once it arrives, data entry onto spreadsheets. You will also need to hold a valid driving licence as you could be asked to cover for the courier on an ad-hoc basis. Post room staff at Apsley are also expected to take part in fire evacuations. The successful candidate will undertake a range of administrative duties such as meeting support, creating agendas, note and minute taking, answering telephone calls, and providing information as a first point of contact. You will be expected to manage team commitments avoiding scheduling conflicts and deal with all general matters including correspondence, invoices, and timesheets according to local procedures. You will be supporting Independent Reviewing Officers to undertake Child Look After Reviews, and other associated tasks ensuring that statutory timescales are met.
