Main duties of the job
Our imaging department has proudly held Quality Standards for Imaging (QSI) accreditation since 2012 which is used as a benchmark for providing good quality service. Successful candidates will be expected to maintain and contribute to these high standards in their Radiography skills, patient care and personal development.
As a CT Radiographer, you will ensure that you work under your own initiative but it is vital you can work well within a team too. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient service for patients. You will also be responsible for the training of junior staff and students.
The role will require the post holder to carry out shifts to enable us to provide a 24 hour, 7 day service to a high standard inclusive of night shifts.

Job responsibilities
1. To ascertain patient identity in line with patient ID policy prior to exposure
2. To ensure that Images are presented for reporting in a timely and accurate manner
3. To be flexible with regard to the rota system, to work the hours required by the department
4. Participation in the provision of a 24 hour service
5. To have knowledge of and implement all departmental and Patient Charter Standards
6. To provide for GPs, Outpatients, Inpatients and the A&E department for CT scanning
7. To participate in alerting reporting radiologist to urgent findings
8. Participate in the trust development review process (appraisal)
9. Maintain a high standard of radiographic technique
10. Take an active role in the departments clinical governance and quality assurance programme
11. Ensure that health and safety and radiation protection legislation is complied with
12. Identify personal training and career development needs
Person Specification
Qualification
* A Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or recognised equivalent
* Registered with the Statutory Board of the Health Professions Council
Knowledge
* Abnormality/pathology recognition
* Awareness of new developments in CT
Experience
* Minimum of 18 months post graduate experience
* Evidence of CPD
* 12 months CT experience
Skills
* Teaching of the rostered students is essential
* Competent in IV cannulation (or willing to undergo training)
* Able to work within a fast-paced, dynamic environment
