An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Dietitian to join the Nutrition and Dietetic Team based at Callington Road Hospital.
We are excited to be recruiting to a Band 6 Mental Health Dietitian in Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG). You will have the opportunity to work with Adults of Working Age (AOWA) with depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar, binge eating disorders, eating disorders not otherwise specified, Older Adults with Dementia.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and innovative Dietitian with excellent communication skills and an interest in mental health.
Working with across the inpatient setting you will have the opportunity to further develop your skills in a variety of areas including, nutrition support, diabetes, weight management and behavioural change.
You will work alongside our highly experienced multidisciplinary team, whilst also receiving support from the Nutrition and Dietetics team based at the hospital and our trust wide highly specialist Dietitians. You will also provide cover at our site at Southmead, Bath and Weston Super Mare hospitals.
Ideally you will have a minimum of 12 months experience as a Dietitian in an acute setting.
Main duties of the job
To assist in providing, maintaining and developing a clinical dietetic service within AWP.
To plan, justify and be responsible for the delivery of specialised dietary advice to service users and their families / carers.
To plan, manage and prioritise own clinical workload and to ensure maximum efficiency in all areas.
To plan, coordinate and deliver nutrition / dietetic training for professional and support staff.
To participate in dietetic student training.

To participate in dietetic student training. To ensure safe practice at all times through the recognition and appreciation of clinical governance. To maintain accurate and appropriate clinical records and statistical information as required, in accordance with professional standards. To maintain clear links with your professions structures and your professions lead within the trust. Support the professions development and modernisation and the adherence to your professions standards and codes of practice. Willing to undertake training relevant to the post. To work as a member of a clinical multi-disciplinary team, this will include close working with Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Community teams.

1. Degree or post graduate diploma in Dietetics
2. Significant demonstrable post registration experience as a Band 5 Dietitian
3. An understanding of MDT working
4. Ability to work autonomously
5. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
6. Knowledge of relevant legislation
7. Able to show initiative within scope of practice and evidence-based practice
