The role holders will be seen as the leakage champion, undertaking proactive and reactive leakage detection by undertaking specific activities identified through our leakage reports and analysis to meet the requirements of the network and our customers. The key responsibility that the role will be accountable for is proactive integrity leakage. Key activities undertaken by the role holders will include:
* Reactive leakage assistance: Interpretation and use of flow and pressure data to agree areas of interest for further leakage detection activity.
* Appropriate leakage detection method depending on requirements of the DMAs (correlating, sounding, private leakage investigation, logging, pressure zero tests, step testing, data loggers).
* Raising new work via Toughbook for leak repair including appropriate network interruptions.
* Incident assistance: To ensure all activities comply with Health and Safety Legislation, including confined space entry and dynamic risk assessment.
* Action PZT & Step Tests.
* Assist other roles, in-day, out of hours and in incidents.
* Attend meetings and Team Briefs.
* Carry out mandatory daily vehicle checks.
* Check boundary valves in relation to leakage activities.
* Check CMP Data.
* Chlorine and Phosphate testing for leakage purposes.
* Clean van.
* Confined Space entry.
* Ensure PPE and equipment is maintained as per standard.
* Flush main for leakage purposes.
* Hydrant abuse and close down hydrant following the request from a NCI.
* Identify strategic valves.
* Intensive DMA Interrogation for Leakage Purposes.
* Install/remove loggers.
* Proactive interruption/restoration of mains supply.
* Locate apparatus.
* Miscellaneous admin.
* Operate valve for leakage detection purposes.
* Set up, operate and remove standpipe.
* Set up site as per NRSWA.
* Update mobile device - Toughbook.
* Review industrial users and metering where appropriate.
* Void Property Checks for Leakage Purposes.
Key accountabilities:
* You will be educated to a good standard at preferably GCSE grade C or above, City and Guilds, or able to demonstrate technical skills.
* Required to comply with all Health and Safety procedures.
* Capable of operating all machinery, equipment and tools within a difficult working environment.
* Team working and communication skills will be an integral requirement of the role.
* Be able to demonstrate the competency to work as part of a high-performance team whilst having a proven record of achieving goals, objectives and scorecard measures.
* This role would be ideal for those people with significant leakage detection and operational experience of the water network.
