Technical Draughtsman and Lead - Attractive and Hybrid Options Northern England - Permanent and Long Term - Military and Defence A Technical Draughtsman and Lead is required for an international Defence and Weapons Systems Company that is expanding their team. Hybrid and flexible working arrangements is available for this position. Salary and Seniority will depend on your skills and experience. The Technical Draughtsman and Lead will be part of the Mechanical Engineering team and will be involved in supporting technical changes to existing company products (i.e Defence and Weapons Systems). The Technical Draughtsman and Lead will be involved in the Mechanical Design, Tests and Trials and will have the opportunity to shape the next generation of defence/weapons platforms and future technologies. Key Duties and Responsibilities for the Technical Draughtsman and Lead Lead of a small team of Draughtsmen Engineers, overseeing TDP resource and tasks, assigning packages of work to individuals and support their development through objectives setting and Personal Development Reviews. Deliver technical documentation to support engineering solutions in the form of drawings, models and other technical outputs in accordance with working standards, practices and in line with business configuration management processes. Establish, maintain and configuration control existing and new data, in line with the Configuration Management requirements of the applicable contract. This work is to be undertaken in accordance with working standards and practices (e.g. BS 8888). Ensure that the Technical Data Pack output meets appropriate quality requirements through correct engineering and mechanical drawing disciplines and modelling methods, design for manufacture considerations, as well as correctly populated CAD and PLM metadata. Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required for the Technical Draughtsman and Lead Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline, or experience within engineering. Expertise in drawing standards, engineering and quality standards (e.g. BS 8888), and the application of geometric tolerances (GD&T). Expertise in 3D and 2D CAD modelling, assembly and drawing (preferably CREO Parametrics, AutoCAD, GTXImage). Expertise in configuration management and revision control, with an understanding of the links between CAD, Product Lifecycle Management systems (i.e. Teamcenter) and Enterprise Resource Planning systems (i.e. SAP). Working knowledge of technical office processes and standards (i.e. Business Management System (BMS) and Life Cycle Model (LCM).
