Hybrid working Study support Additional benefits Summary and purpose of the Job: The role of Assistant Management Accountant is critical to the success of the business as you will be responsible for processing and analysing the results of a number of different products and services. You will be required to post cost accruals and pre-payments, ensuring that costs in the period can be matched to billed revenue. You will need to be able to analyse and interpret data, seeking clarity from other internal departments where there are discrepancies. Provide commentary for product lines in the Management Accounts pack. You will be required to work to deadlines so you will need to be a methodical and organised individual. There will be opportunities and requirements to work cross-departmentally in order resolve financial queries with the relevant stakeholders. You will also be required to have good IT skills and be able to use all Microsoft applications. Previous experience of working in a similar role is essential. Responsibilities (but not limited to): The extent of your duties will include but are not limited to: Working closely with the Finance Manager, Management Accounts team and Purchase Ledger team to ensure accurate month end preparation and reporting of the monthly Management Accountants Accruals & Prepayments Revenue accruals & deferrals Variance analysis with commentary Matching costs to revenue to ensure accurate reporting Investigation and commentary on variances to budgetBalance sheet reconciliations Other ad-hoc duties The successful candidate will have: Previous experience in a Finance team is essential Should be studying towards a qualification with ACCA/ACA/CIMA Experience with Sage200 is also beneficial but not essential Competent in Microsoft Office software Good Ms Excel skills i.e., VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Pivot table and If statements Good understanding of accounting principles Ability to deliver both independently and as part of a team Ability to work to tight deadlines Ability to complete complex tasks and projects within a reasonable timeframe Highly organised with excellent time management skills and attention to detail Eagerness to learn and develop and willing to go the extra mile Reliable and approachable
