As a senior employee of the Health Board, the post holder will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Health Board’s patients. Main duties of the job The post is pivotal to the continued development and quality of Rheumatology services provided by the Health Board and will support the existing Consultants. This appointment will provide care to patients from across the Health Board Health Board. The principal place of employment being Prince PhilipHospital,although otherworking locations including off site working may be necessary and will form part of your agreed job plan. This will be subject to change as the Health Board’s clinical requirements are amended to meet the needs of the service/patients. This Consultant in Rheumatology post will have clinical commitment and responsibility for the development of the Rheumatology service in Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli, as well as the department in totality. This post will be joining 1 full time Consultant (currently vacant), 1 full time Locum Consultant based in Pembrokeshire, 1 full time Consultant based in Ceredigion and 2 full time Consultants based in Carmarthenshire. The Pembrokeshire Nursing team consists of 0.4 WTE Specialist Nurse Prescriber Band 7 and 1.0 WTE Specialist Nurse Band 6. The Carmarthenshire Nursing team consists of 1.0 WTE Specialist Nurse Band 7, 1.0 WTE Specialist Nurse Band 6 and 1.0 WTE Specialist Nurse Band 5. We have an Advanced Pharmacist based within Carmarthenshire and are actively looking to recruit into a second post. A team to support the Consultant post at BGH is currently in development.
