An exciting new role within the Livewell Southwest Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). We have the opportunity for a Mental Health Practitioner to work for 1 year in a pilot in the Young Peoples Substance Misuse Treatment Service in Plymouth.
We are looking for a resilient, innovative, and motivated mental health practitioner who is passionate about improving the lives and mental health of our young people.
Main Duties of the Job
This role is to offer mental health assessment, intervention, and consultation to the young people accessing this service who present with a comorbid mental health presentation. You will provide a pathway between CAMHS and the young peoples substance misuse treatment service to ensure smooth transitions for this group of young people. The post will be located within a team with The Childrens Society, who will provide clinical supervision and support any training needs. They, however, will sit within CAMHS and will receive caseload/line management from CAMHS.
Responsibilities:
* To work with children and young people who may present mental health difficulties.
* Co-ordination and implementation of evidence-based interventions in a timely manner, in collaboration with the other clinicians across the CAMHS Pathways.
* Providing 15 contacts with young people and families each week.
* To support the delivery of evidence-based group programmes for children and young people with mental health issues.
* Take a lead in representing CAMHS in multi-agency meetings.
* Ensure planned interventions are implemented effectively and evaluated using Routine Outcome Monitoring (ROMS).
* Maintain standards of care to the highest level within available resources.
* To actively participate in line management with senior and junior members of staff.
* To maintain confidentiality in respect of the young people at all times.
* Provide Clinical Assessment and supervision for students.
Knowledge, Training and Experience:
* The post holder will be responsible for updating their own practice, knowledge and skills within their sphere of practice including Livewell Southwest mandatory training.
* Knowledge of Policy and legislation.
* Knowledge of Mental Health and Mental Health service delivery.
Qualifications Essential:
* RMN, RSCN or RN(LD) registered with NMC or Occupational Therapist/Social Worker (registered with HCPC).
* Diploma level specialist training/experience or equivalent.
Experience Essential:
* Post-registration experience of working with people with complex mental ill health within the community.
* Experience of working collaboratively with the client and their families/carers.
