East Hampshire District Council is embarking on a new journey and building a team that will help shape its future. The
transformation programme at East Hampshire has focused the council to reshape the way they work, and they are developing five
critical cross-cutting programmes which are linked to all directorates, these are being developed simultaneously. Delivering
through IT is one of the five, and we are building an IT team to support EHDC realise the benefits of effectively delivering
through IT.
You will play a vitally important role in providing technology to shape our future services. There has never been a better time to

About the role:
Your role will work towards ensuring corporate and service area cloud-based (SaaS) line of business systems are integrated and
available to successfully deliver key services to residents. You’ll deliver and champion best practice for all cloud-based
application development, supporting staff and members in getting the most out of cloud-based IT and digital solutions.
Your role will also liaise with cloud/SaaS suppliers and partners for problem analysis, support and maintenance of key software
applications, specialising in systems relating to the statutory services of the organisation. Helping deliver the transformation
roadmap and expected outcomes.
Requirements to succeed:
* Manage / Support the Councils M365 environment.
* Provide support for existing council Applications & Services.
* Manage / Support for the Councils Azure environment.
* Managing configuration of user change requests and leading technical integrations
* Acting as the technical interface to our technology partners and align user requirements into the right technical solutions.
* Key communication with employees and senior leadership about budget, application usage and other issues related to SaaS
applications, such as cyber security.
* Compliance management services to ensure that officers comply with the set-out procedures and policies related to SaaS
applications.
* The effective delivery and co-ordination of critical SaaS services through the following activities:
* Management of software development plans in conjunction with other partners and suppliers.
* Development and maintenance of documented tools and standards for software development, including the application of
appropriate change control.
* Proactive liaison & support to service users, members and partners to promote the development of key services.
* Maintain up-to-date IT market-intelligence and knowledge of current and emerging IT developments and associated business best
practices, assessing their applicability to the Council.
* Recording, resolving and escalating problems reported by users of specific corporate and business applications by responding
in a timely and efficient manner to the business needs.
* Manage access to software applications to ensure security.
* Develop processes for approving the use of a new SaaS application.
* Develop and adhere to the overall IT budget.
* The SaaS role spans the areas of Software Engineering, Ops, DevOps, Data Engineering, and Security. SaaS Engineers build and
operate components of the SaaS Platform, solving problems across the stack from concept through to the customer, ensuring all
solutions are inherently SaaS.
