We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Pattern Cutter for 24 hours per week, to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years' experience working with digital patterns in a commercial environment. This role requires expertise in creating new patterns, adjusting existing patterns and grading, with a focus on tailored garments made in woven fabrics for menswear and ladieswear. This is an on-site role, with some flexibility regarding days and working hours.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the design team to meet critical path deadlines across multiple projects.
* Develop new garment patterns, either adapting existing ones or creating original designs.
* Attend fit sessions and accurately implement adjustments to patterns for production.
* Work closely with sample machinists and manufacturers during the sampling process to achieve optimal results.
* Assist in finalising technical information, including spec sheets, measurement charts, and lay plans.
* Grading patterns as needed.
* Ensuring the accurate communication of patterns and manufacturing specifications to factories, and maintaining organised records in keeping with company processes.
* Upholding established company quality standards throughout the process.
Candidate Requirements:
* Proven experience with both menswear and ladieswear patterns.
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Gerber, Lectra);
* Familiarity with PAD software is advantageous but not necessary.
* Strong technical expertise in garment construction, particularly structured and tailored garments.
* Ability to create first patterns from design illustrations, working with woven fabrics.
* Competence in Adobe and Microsoft applications; ERP understanding is a plus.
* Solid experience in pattern grading.
* Comprehensive understanding of fabric types and their properties.
* Experience working with international production factories.
* Commercial awareness, in implementing cost-effective manufacturing processes.
* Experience in workload management and ability to meet deadlines.
* Familiarity with collaborating alongside garment technologists to ensure consistency in technical specification packs.
* A self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, fluent in English.
* Team-oriented person, comfortable engaging with colleagues collaboratively.
* Ability to pay attention to detail and good organisational skills.
