Bridge Recruitment is helping one of our established clients recruit for an Apprentice Management Accountant to join their ever-expanding team. The main purpose of the role is to support with the preparation, analysis and reporting of Industrial and Commercial financial performance.
Responsibilities of the Apprentice Management Accountant:
Industrial Accounting:
1. Track and analyse production costs, including direct materials, direct labour, and manufacturing overhead.
2. Prepare and analyse variance reports to identify and investigate cost deviations.
3. Maintain standard costing systems.
4. Monitor and analyse inventory levels and reconcile inventory records.
Commercial Accounting:
1. Conduct in-depth revenue and profitability analysis to support strategic decision-making.
2. Evaluate the financial impact of new products, services, or initiatives.
3. Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and presentations as needed.
4. Assist in the development of pricing strategies.
5. Analyse revenue trends and assist in identifying opportunities for growth.
6. Monitor pricing compliance and ensure that pricing policies are being followed.
Reporting:
1. Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reporting.
2. Analyse financial trends and key performance indicators (KPIs).
3. Contribute to insightful commentary on financial results.
4. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
5. Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
6. Maintain and improve internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
7. Assist with internal and external audits.
8. Ad hoc requests.
Requirements of the Apprentice Management Accountant:
1. Qualification: Graduate, AAT Intermediate +.
2. Excellent analytical skills.
3. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
4. Ability to work to tight deadlines.
5. Organisation and time management skills (priorities and multi-tasks).
6. Computer literate with good spreadsheet capability.
