Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our long established family business. The successful candidate will have the ability to work on all makes of cars and light commercials and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. MOT tester preferred but not essential. Although the position is advertised as full time we will consider part time or flexible working.
Responsibilities
1. Carry out a full range of diagnostics, repairs and servicing and be capable of working to the high standards expected by our customers.
2. Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
3. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with customers regarding their vehicle's condition and required repairs.
4. Diagnose mechanical issues in vehicles using appropriate tools and techniques.
5. Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles, including engine repairs, brake systems, and electrical components.
6. Utilise power tools and hand tools effectively to assemble and repair vehicle parts.
7. Weld components as necessary to ensure structural integrity and safety.
Skills
1. Hold NVQ qualifications to Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent. MOT tester qualification preferred but not essential. Applicants with NVQ Level 2 and relevant experience will be considered.
2. A full clean driving licence held for a minimum of one year.
3. Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle repair and maintenance.
4. Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment.
5. Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documents related to vehicle systems.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues.
7. Capability to maintain a clean and organised work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
8. Experience in heavy lifting tasks associated with vehicle repairs.
9. Strong customer service skills to foster positive relationships with clients.
