Overview:
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant special school in Cwmbran. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs and who are committed to creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering tailored educational plans to students with special educational needs.
- Assist with the personal care and well-being of students as required.
- Create a safe and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and development.
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to promote effective communication.
- Help with the preparation of classroom resources and learning materials.
- Monitor and record student progress, reporting any concerns to the teaching staff.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people, preferably in a special education setting.
- Understanding of various types of special educational needs and effective strategies to support students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, caring, and flexible approach to teaching and supporting students.
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special needs support are desirable, but not essential.
