About the Role
Join our team as an Electrical Fitter at our Equipment Support Facility, reporting directly to the Spares and Repair Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting electrical inspections of equipment returning from loan, producing survey reports, and ensuring that Portable Electrical Distribution equipment meets safety standards for field reuse. Adherence to Company Health & Safety Policies and Procedures is essential, alongside staying updated on industry standards and best practices within the electrical industry.
Responsibilities
* Conduct electrical inspections of equipment returning from loan and produce survey reports
* Identify time and spares required to bring Portable Electrical Distribution equipment to a satisfactory standard for safe field reuse
* Perform routine electrical testing, corrective maintenance, diagnostic fault finding, and equipment modifications
* Provide training and mentoring to apprentices
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives
* Ensure adherence to Health and Safety regulations, COSHH, Engineering Hygiene, Risk Assessments, and safe working practices in a hazardous environment
* Undertake any other reasonable tasks aligned with your knowledge, experience, and position
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Hold a nationally recognised certificated qualification and demonstrate knowledge and experience in electrical testing and maintenance
* Experience in testing and fault finding on various electrical distribution equipment
* Ability to anticipate, diagnose, and repair faults
* Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
* Understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), service targets, objectives, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
* Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices
* Strong customer care focus
* Excellent communication skills
* Competent computer skills, including MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, MS Teams), and the ability to learn new software systems
* Capable of completing essential paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
* Proactive approach to tasks and responsibilities
The role is based on-site at Swindon.
