About the role: Archivist
* Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time (0.6 FTE)
* Start Date: Term 2
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Archivist to join our team at South Coast Baptist College. Reporting to the Executive Assistant, this vital role focuses on preserving and celebrating our rich heritage by maintaining historical records, managing data storage, and overseeing electronic records. The successful candidate will play a key role in digitising and safeguarding our history for future generations. Position Requirements:
Heritage Promotion and Maintenance:
* Curate and promote the College’s historical records and artifacts.
* Engage with alumni and the community to share stories through events and media.
Collection Management:
* Digitise, catalogue, and conserve archival materials.
* Manage photographic, audio, video, and architectural collections.
Alumni Relations:
* Build relationships with alumni and support historical events.
Professional Development:
* Undertake relevant professional development as approved.
Selection Criteria:
Essential:
* Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and research skills.
* Proficiency in digitisation, recordkeeping, Microsoft applications, and social media.
* Knowledge of conservation techniques and ability to collaborate under pressure.
Desirable:
* Experience in archival management and digitisation.
* Passion for history and preserving heritage.
Essential Criteria:
* A personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
* Active participation in a church or Christian community, exemplifying Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices.
* Acceptance of the College’s Statement of Faith.
* Ability to build cooperative and supportive relationships with the Board, Principal, staff, students, and parents.
* Commitment to personal best practice.
* Ensure decisions are impartial, fact-based, and fair.
* Model appropriate and proper channels of communication.
* Consistently act in the best interests of the College and its ethos.
* Adherence to all policies and procedures outlined by SCBC.
* Commitment to maintaining a child-safe environment in line with the College’s values and policies.
* Possession of the following certifications:
* National Police Clearance
* Working with Children Check
* First Aid Certificate
