Our client, a leading regulator within the public sector, is looking for a Senior Data Modeller for an ASAP start. You will operate as our client's internal Data Modelling expert, providing advice on specialist data modelling related matters at all levels, including Executive Committees, internal Directorates and their leadership, and other key stakeholders and committees.
You will also be the focal point and expert in a multi-disciplinary team in a specific work area in the context of operating in a Professions and Flexible Resourcing model, whilst planning and overseeing/set the work deliverables.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Lead the determination of data layer requirements by analysing organisational and market needs and evaluating current systems.
2. Set standards for data modelling and design tools and techniques, advising on their application.
3. Collaborate with senior leadership to define data strategy and ensure alignment with business goals.
4. Lead the development, validation, publishing, and maintenance of conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support the data knowledge requirements.
5. Lead on the creation and development of our client's enterprise data model.
6. Design and maintain metadata repositories enabling the organisation to find and understand their data assets.
7. Define, manage and maintain data models using industry standard modelling and profiling tools and techniques across our client's disparate data streams.
8. Ensure architectural and engineering concepts are defined and embedded to design solutions that meet operational requirements, such as scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability, and manageability.
Key Outputs and Deliverables:
1. Lead the delivery of strategic assets i.e. Metadata Repositories, Enterprise Logical Data Model (LDM), Logical, Conceptual and Physical data models, best practice guidance, data flow diagrams.
2. Define and embed a consistent and coherent approach to data modelling throughout the organisation.
3. Delivery of a central modelling ability to ensure quality, traceability, transparency, timeliness, usability, and cost-effectiveness.
Essential:
1. Main requirement: Demonstrate setting up and developing an Enterprise Data Model.
2. Strong experience developing OLAP data models.
3. Strong experience of leading the evaluation, development, and maintenance of metadata repositories, logical data models, physical database structures, and database queries according to best practice (expert knowledge of SQL required).
4. Good at mentoring and ability to upskill Architect OLAP Modelling.
5. Can help develop strategy on a data enterprise model.
