Are you a skilled Structural Engineer looking to take the next step in your career? Our client, a highly regarded family-owned business specializing in structural steelwork design, fabrication, and installation, is expanding its team. They are seeking a talented engineer with 5+ years of industry experience to contribute to their growing success.
About the Role
As a Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in designing steel structures, ensuring seamless integration with internal teams and engaging effectively with clients. You will have expertise in steel connection design, utilizing both software and manual techniques. Proficiency in Tekla Fastrak Design Suite and AutoCAD is highly desirable, along with a strong knowledge of structural steel design codes.
Key Responsibilities
* Design structural steel connections for projects ranging from 5 to 1,000 tonnes, ensuring compliance with British Standards and Eurocodes.
* Utilize specialized design software and manual calculations to deliver high-quality structural solutions.
* Attend design meetings, prepare estimates, and contribute to tender designs.
* Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and internal teams to optimize designs and offer cost-effective solutions.
* Work in coordination with internal and external drafting teams to ensure accurate project execution.
* Oversee projects from tender stage through to completion, ensuring structural integrity and compliance.
Requirements
* Minimum 5 years' experience in structural steel design.
* Strong understanding of steelwork fabrication and Eurocodes.
* Proficiency in hand calculations to supplement software-based design.
* Experience with Tekla Fastrak Design Suite (preferred).
* Chartered status or working towards it (IStructE / ICE).
