Due to retirement, we are looking to recruit a dynamic, experienced leader to operationally manage our community dental teams in Cambridge, Ely, and Wisbech. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage daily changing priorities. They will possess excellent interpersonal skills, stakeholder management experience, the ability to foster a culture of inclusion, be forward-thinking, and demonstrate experience in managing quality improvement initiatives.

Our dental teams offer a wide range of services including emergency dental, special care, epidemiology, and minor oral surgery.
This is not a home-based role, and the candidate will be expected to travel between locations.
Main duties of the job
1. To ensure the vision, purpose, and objectives of the organisation are integrated into the service, and team members' objectives and appraisals reflect these priorities.
2. To work closely with the General Manager and Leadership team in forecasting, planning, reviewing, and reporting on the contractual activity for the dental services.
3. To be responsible for managing and developing the Locality Leads.
4. Provide KPI management for the area of responsibility to ensure that the Service meets its contracting requirements and local and national targets are met.
5. To support the General Manager and Leadership team in the strategic planning for the service.
6. Provide leadership and direction for staff as a team and individually, focused on the Service Plan and the needs of internal and external customers, giving clear and measurable objectives.

Job responsibilities

8. Liaise with NHS partners and stakeholders across disciplines and organisations to ensure the integration of services and effective delivery.
9. Contribute to the strategy for the dental service by working with the General Manager and Leadership team to achieve continuous service improvements and efficient and effective care.
10. Work with the General Manager to establish and maintain effective communication systems within the service, ensuring that staff are involved in planning and delivering health care.
11. Work closely with the area Clinical Leads in integrated governance in the directorate, and work with the General Manager to ensure that integrated governance objectives are met.
12. Lead on workforce planning for the localities, anticipating demand and future changes in training requirements that might be needed as services transform in liaison with Locality Leads.
13. Lead within the service in the monitoring of incidents and near misses, ensuring they are reported and responded to appropriately, risk management, controls assurance, and complaints in a positive and sensitive way in accordance with Cambridgeshire Community Services.
14. Lead on the monitoring of clinical governance systems.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree or equivalent experience.
* Evidence of managerial development.
* Previous NHS experience.
Experience
* Good track record of experience in a management position.
* Experience of service development and transformation and evidence of achievement in implementing change.
* Good track record of managing a budget and delivering on demanding targets.
Skills
* Excellent leadership and communication skills.
* Innovative in initiating and implementing change.
* Ability to use tact, diplomacy, persuasion, etc., as well as authority to achieve objectives for CCS.
