The Opportunity
Are you passionate about supporting children with SEMH needs? We are looking for a Behaviour Mentor to work in primary schools and help children develop positive self-regulation, resilience, and confidence. This is a rewarding role where you will work closely with students who struggle with self-regulation, ensuring they have the tools and support they need to engage with learning and thrive in school.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will support individual students and small groups, helping them manage their emotions, develop coping strategies, and build positive relationships. Working closely with teachers, the SENDCo, and pastoral staff, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and structured environment where every child feels safe, respected and supported.
Main Responsibilities
1. Work 1:1 and in small groups to support children with behavioural, social, and emotional difficulties.
2. Implement behaviour management strategies to help students regulate their emotions.
3. Build trusting relationships with students, acting as a positive role model.
4. Work with teachers to create personalised support plans and interventions.
5. Help children develop social skills, resilience, and self-confidence.
