Job Overview:
As a Senior Accountant, you will deliver high-quality accounting, taxation, and advisory services to a diverse client portfolio, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. This full-time, office-based role offers collaborative work and clear opportunities for growth and progression.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Statement Preparation: Produce year-end accounts in compliance with UK standards.
2. Management Accounts: Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts, including variance analysis and performance commentary.
3. Tax Compliance: Assist with the preparation and submission of Corporation Tax, Income Tax, and VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
4. Client Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships, acting as a key contact for accounting queries.
5. Bookkeeping & Records Oversight: Review client bookkeeping, prepare trial balances, journals, and reconciliations.
6. Audit Assistance: Support audit processes by preparing working papers and conducting testing.
7. Advisory Services: Contribute to business planning and tax strategy advisory work.
8. VAT Returns: Prepare and review VAT returns according to HMRC regulations.
Requirements:
* Qualifications: ACA / ACCA / AAT qualified, or qualified by experience.
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years in UK accountancy practice.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency with cloud-based accounting software like Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage; solid understanding of UK standards and tax regulations; advanced Excel skills.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills with a client-focused approach.
* Detail-Oriented: High accuracy and attention to detail.
* Organised: Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Team-Oriented: Supportive, proactive team player contributing to firm goals.
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
Friday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
