Design and Technology Teacher
Tradewind recruitment are working with a well-respected secondary school based in Uxbridge, Hillingdon who are currently looking for a Design and Technology teacher.
The school is looking for someone to start ASAP on a long-term contract until Easter or July 2025. The school is willing to offer a permanent contract for the right person.
This position is full-time, but the school is open to part-time applicants.
Salary will match outer London MPS/UPS.
The school has available parking spaces.
Key Aims of Design and Technology Teacher:
1. Encourage creativity and innovation: Develop students' ability to generate original ideas and think creatively in response to real-world challenges.
2. Foster problem-solving skills: Equip students with the tools to identify, analyse, and solve practical problems through design and technology.
3. Promote sustainable thinking: Instil an awareness of the environmental impact of design choices, encouraging students to create sustainable and responsible solutions.
4. Develop technical knowledge and practical skills: Provide hands-on experience with a range of materials, tools, and technologies to build competence in both traditional and modern design methods.
5. Nurture teamwork and communication: Cultivate collaboration and effective communication, preparing students to work successfully in diverse teams and express their design ideas confidently.
Qualifications and Person Specification:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
2. A relevant degree
3. Excellent subject knowledge with the ability to inspire and motivate students
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Approachable and encouraging
