Assistant Accountant - A Unique Opportunity

Your Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting & Reconciliation: Help transition from quarterly to monthly accounts, assist with balance sheet reconciliations and budget monitoring.
2. Statutory Accounts & Audit Support: Work with external auditors, prepare documentation, and ensure a smooth year-end process.
3. Accounts Payable, Receivable & Payroll: Assist with invoice processing, payment runs, payroll administration, and deputise as needed.
4. Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the finance team in tracking income, expenditure, and grant allocations.
5. VAT & Gift Aid: Assist with VAT returns, compliance, and Gift Aid claims.
6. Systems & Process Improvement: Work with Sage 200, improve workflows, and contribute to efficiency initiatives.
What We're Looking For:
1. Part-qualified ACCA, ACA, or fully qualified QBE with solid statutory accounting & audit experience.
2. Experience in a charity or practice setting (preferred but not essential).
3. Strong financial reporting, reconciliation, and VAT knowledge.
4. Comfortable using Sage 200 (or similar accounting systems) & advanced Excel skills.
5. A collaborative team player who enjoys working closely with senior finance professionals.
