This position can be based at either our Penrith Operations Base, or at the Newcastle Head Office, and there is working time across both sites as well as travel elsewhere in the UK as part of the role.
Responsibilities
* Manage the UK Operations team across multiple sites (Penrith, Newcastle, partners/supplier)
* Manage key partners and suppliers, including those working as Skedaddle representatives, and those hosting Skedaddle resources
* Ensure efficient and safe operation of UK activities and UK based holidays
* Overall responsibility for the management of holiday operational information for all UK holidays
* Management of the operations systems and tools for the UK (resource management, accommodation management, other)
* Effective management of resources for all UK holidays, including guides, vehicles, trailers, bikes, equipment, ensuring all resources are maintained, safe and available
* Coordinate operations tasks for all UK trips
* Contribute to Health & Safety aspects of Skedaddle UK operations including UK offices and stores
* Continuous improvement of and adherence to standard operating procedures for UK operations
* Take a key role in the recruitment/induction programme and ongoing management for UK-based guides
* Contribute to the production of an annual timeline of activity and delivery to this plan
* Contribute to development and management of operations budget
* Contribute to the development of product standards
* Assist in the development of holiday pricing and scheduling of all UK holidays
* Contribute to Skedaddle best practices and projects as necessary
Qualifications & Profile
* Degree educated
* At least 5 years’ experience in an Operations role, preferably in travel/tourism
* Experience of operations management in the travel sector
* Previous experience of managing multi-site locations
* Clean driving licence, ideally experience driving medium sized vans (Transit/Boxer) and pulling trailers (or willingness to learn)
* Love of travel and cycling
