Main duties of the job
To be successful in the role of Practice Educator & Advisor you will have a minimum of 2 years experienced and confident in children's complex health, including respiratory management including ventilation and tracheotomy support.
In addition, you will also need to:
1. Pediatric Nurse qualification with current PIN number.
2. Ideally will hold qualification in training and mentoring.
3. Must have experience and confident in children's complex health.
4. A full driving licence and own transport would be an advantage.

Job responsibilities
CourtyardCare Ltd will endeavor to provide a family orientated, negotiated care packageto meet the needs of all the children and their families.
Thisjob is within the Children's homes to lead in the on-goingassessment, management and delivery of care packages for children and youngpeople receiving complex health needs. including setting and maintainingstandards of care; professional advice (where appropriate), customer liaison, trainingand supervision of support workers and team development. To ensure servicemeets and exceeds all relevant legislative/commissioning frameworks.
Keyresponsibilities :
Training and development
Responsible for training new staff in allrelevant health needs for each child, supporting and supervising new staff froma clinical perspective but not being allocated to or responsible for the child/youngperson
Complete refresher updates andcompetencies for all staff as per Courtyard Care Policies
Assist in the development for on goingcompetency assessments for all staff
Develop training resources and materials
Deliver training in mandatory areas suchas medication, first aid etc
Clinical
Be responsible for own ongoingprofessional development
Identify andassess care need requirements within a home care package and maintain regularand appropriate contact with the Registered Manager to ensure appropriatelevels of staffing are met.
Ensure thatclinical interventions are met through effective planning and use of staff
Undertakesix Monthly review/update of health needs plan for child/young person.
Ensure thatall intervention are within the relevant framework
Provideclinical interface between the service, commissioners, line managers attend allchildrens reviews and related meetings as identified by the registered Manager
Providesupport and guidance to the staff team for all matters of a clinical nature
Work withinNMC guidelines
Develop andundertake medication audits in services to ensure highest standards of practice
Maintaineffective Registration with NM
Lead byexample through attention to professional conduct
Attend teammeetings for clinical issues/matters only
Support theRegistered Manager in the root cause analysis of and leaning outcomes followingmedication errors
Contribute toclinical policy update and review
Advisors
Practiceeducator will offer advice to team in clinical matters within the healthsupport plan and direct them to universal services outside of the healthsupport plan
Liaise withhealth professionals to provide clinical oversight from in service.
Personspecification
A core profession a nurse practitioner.
Member of the relevant regulatory bodywith no ongoing disciplinary action or investigations pending. Up to date CPDprofile.
RSCN - Registered Nurse with paediatricexperience
ENB 998 or equivalent experience
Post Registration qualification
Experience of ITU or High Dependencyunit

Good knowledge of computer system

All annual leave will be booked inaccordance with Courtyard Care Ltd Policy and accurate records to support theRegistered Manager.
Ensure appropriate procedures are inplace for evidencing the training for the staff team.
You are expected to report on duty atcommencement time of shift, any lateness must be reported to management anddocumented on the rota and in the daily log.
Any sickness should be conducted asper policy and a back to work form must be completed on return to work. Anysickness of staff must be monitored and dealt with in line with company policy.

Attendanceat Meetings

Aspart of the communication processes in place to keep all staff informed and upto date about matters relating to their jobs and employment staff will berequired to attend meetings within their own time and working time, reasonablenotice of these meetings will be given, where this is not possible this will bedue to exceptional circumstances.Attendance at any meetings involving the well-being of children / youngpeople as required in line with legislation and good practice.
